Khadijah Torbert is responsible for managing the implementation of the marketing communications strategy and programs, including advertising, branding, content creation and production of West AlabamaWorks! publications, events, media, social media, marketing, and materials, primarily related to workforce and education development efforts. She also distributes consistent themes, messaging, and branding throughout all workforce development activities of the Chamber, Adopt-A-School, Region 3 Workforce Development Council, and West AlabamaWorks’ meetings, initiatives, and projects.

Prior to joining the workforce development team, Khadijah served as Interim Director of Communications and Sports Information for the Alabama Community College Conference as well as having over six years of communication and broadcast journalism experience. She graduated Cum Laude from Troy University in 2016, where she double majored in Broadcast Journalism and Business Administration. She obtained her master’s degree from the University of Alabama in 2019.

Khadijah is active in the community by volunteering with Temporary Emergency Services, a mentor with Mind Changers Inc., a member of Junior League of Tuscaloosa, and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
