Career Connect Adds Nearly 800 Contacts Since Beginning of 2017

ONLINE SYSTEM MATCHES JOBSEEKERS WITH EMPLOYERS
Career Connect, the online system used by West Alabama Works to match jobseekers with employers, has the following results as of June 2017:
- Currently, we have 3,965 individuals in our Career Connect system.
- 200 names have been purged in the last 30 days for no contact or information.
- 68 individuals have been added in the last 30 days.
- 775+ have been added since the beginning of January 2017.
- More than 2,000 emails, 500 text messages, and more than 400 phone calls have been made from navigators.
- UWA has made more than 150 calls engaging students from Career Connect to enter their Automotive and Welding programs.
- Shelton State has made more than 322 calls to reach out to individuals for the Ready to Work classes.
- West Alabama Works staff receives calls daily from individuals seeking assistance. Individuals are told about how the system works and shares the website. Each individual receives a referral to Career Connect navigators.
We have improved our tracking and attention to critical categories within Career Connect, especially related to reducing the incomplete records that were previously considered viable candidates. Current main categories are:
- Pre Candidates – 1,716 (These individuals have incomplete data or need further assessment or review).
- Tier 1 – 153 (These individuals do not have a high school diploma or GED and are considered at risk).
- Tier 2 – 995 (These individuals have a diploma/GED and need additional training).
- Tier 3 – 217 (These individuals are clearly/demonstratively ready to work).
