Catholic Social Services Holds Building Dedication
November 7, 2017
Catholic Social Services of West Alabama held a building dedication November 3 for their new storage building, which holds clothing, furniture and other items that aid them in providing assistance. The building is located at 608 James I. Harrison, Jr. Parkway East.
Since 1989, Catholic Social Services of West Alabama (CSS) has served as a local advocate for the most vulnerable in a 10-county service area which has an average poverty rating of 24% in the 6th poorest state in the country. Guided by the basic belief in the inherent dignity of every human being, CSS vigorously advocates for those living in poverty and suffering from despair and supports our local agencies in their provision of essential services to those in need.
To this end, they choose to collaborate with all of God's people regardless of race, creed, religion, or economic background in order to build a more just and compassionate society by providing financial assistance, food, clothing, furniture, household items, financial coaching, referrals, and mentorship.
