April 18, 2025
The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama’s Nonprofit Council hosted a celebration of service at its annual Nonprofit Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, April 17, at The Link in Northport. Presented by Nece Floral Designs and United Way of West Alabama, the event honored the volunteers whose selfless dedication continues to shape and strengthen the West Alabama community.
Attendees were welcomed with lunch and a warm atmosphere of gratitude. The program included words from Tuscaloosa City Councilwoman Raevan Howard, who spoke on the lasting impact of volunteerism and the importance of recognizing those who serve behind the scenes.
A special musical performance by two talented vocalists from Shelton State Community College added a memorable touch to the afternoon.
Throughout the event, volunteers from various organizations were recognized. Each was celebrated for their commitment to making a difference and advancing the missions of local nonprofits.
“The luncheon is a meaningful way for our community to pause and thank the volunteers who make so much of our progress possible,” said Dr. Karen Thompson-Jackson, chair of The Chamber’s Nonprofit Council. “We are proud to spotlight these individuals and the organizations they support.”
