Chamber to Host 40th Anniversary Adopt-A-School Kickoff July 31
July 12, 2025
The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama will celebrate a major milestone as it hosts the 40th Anniversary Adopt-A-School Kickoff on Thursday, July 31 from 11:30am. The event will bring together representatives from local school systems and business partners across the region to celebrate this milestone and kickoff the upcoming school year.
This annual event marks the start of a new Adopt-A-School program year, offering attendees the opportunity to engage in targeted training workshops, celebrate notable partnership accomplishments, and collaborate on strategies to strengthen their impact on local schools.
“As we celebrate 40 years of Adopt-A-School, we’re also looking ahead,” said The Chamber’s Director of Education Programs Carolyn Tubbs. “Our mission remains focused on empowering students through strong partnerships that connect learning with real-world opportunity.”
This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Clarence Sutton, Jr., Superintendent of Huntsville City Schools, a distinguished education leader with a strong commitment to community partnerships that support student success.
Since its founding in 1985, the Adopt-A-School program has connected schools with business and community partners who work together to provide students with real-world experiences, mentorship, and support.
