New Partnership Brings Support to Englewood Elementary
April 7, 2025
The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama is pleased to announce that the Tuscaloosa County Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (TCC SCLC) has adopted Englewood Elementary.
This partnership is dedicated to supporting students and educators through meaningful engagement and recognition. TCC SCLC will provide incentives and celebrate student achievements in academics and character, including “Student of the Month” recognition. In addition, they will offer monthly incentives for teachers, provide volunteers for mentoring and school activities, and assist in developing and implementing a campus improvement plan.
“When social advocates support 360-degree learning modules for third through fifth graders, they help shape well-rounded, critical-thinking young minds,” said Rev. James Williams, president of the Tuscaloosa chapter. “These modules integrate academic, social and emotional learning, ensuring that every child — regardless of background — has the tools to succeed in the classroom and beyond. The Tuscaloosa County Chapter of the SCLC is honored to add Englewood Elementary School as our adoptee.”
This partnership comes on the heels of the organization recently adopting Martin L. King, Jr. Elementary School, further demonstrating their commitment to making a lasting impact in our schools and community.
Englewood Elementary is also partnered with Shelton State Community College.
