The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama Announces Leadership Transition

After more than three years of dedicated leadership and service to West Alabama's business community, Kyle South will conclude his tenure as President and CEO of The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama at the end of October. South has accepted a new opportunity to serve as Assistant Vice Chancellor for State Affairs with The University of Alabama System.
Since joining The Chamber in July 2023, South has helped advance the organization's mission of promoting economic growth, strengthening the business community and advocating for the needs of West Alabama.
During his tenure, The Chamber has made significant progress on several key initiatives, including the renovation and expansion of the West Alabama Workforce and Community Development Center, legislative advocacy efforts and initiatives supporting workforce development and education throughout the region. His leadership has strengthened partnerships among business, education and community leaders while positioning The Chamber for continued success.
"Kyle has helped strengthen The Chamber’s foundation and positioned us well for the future," said Heyward Gould, Chair of The Chamber's Board of Directors. "Our Board, staff and membership remain dedicated to the organization's mission, and we are confident in The Chamber's continued growth and success. We look forward to building on the progress made under Kyle's leadership."
Throughout this transition, The Chamber remains committed to providing the same level of service, advocacy and programming that its members and community partners have come to expect.
