University Place Elementary School, NuBeginnings Church form Adopt-A-School Partnership
October 28, 2025
NuBeginnings Church (NBC) has joined forces with University Place Elementary School (UPES) through The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama’s Adopt-A-School program, forming a partnership dedicated to empowering students, parents, and teachers.
“At University Place Elementary School, our mission is ‘Growing Tomorrow’s Leaders Today,’ and we believe in the power of partnerships that truly make a difference,” said Principal Nakelya Mullins. “Our collaboration with NuBeginnings Church represents more than community service—it’s a shared mission to nurture, empower, and inspire every child to reach their fullest potential. Together, we are growing tomorrow’s leaders through compassion, commitment, and collective purpose.”
NBC and UPES will focus on strengthening student leadership through meaningful incentives, increasing parental engagement to support attendance and academic success, and celebrating educators through appreciation initiatives.
“At NuBeginnings Church, we believe that real change starts with showing up for our community—especially for our children,” said Pastor Derrick Johnson. “We are honored to partner with University Place Elementary School as their Adopt-A-School partner. This is more than a partnership; it’s a commitment to support, uplift, and invest in the next generation. We look forward to walking alongside the incredible educators, students, and families of University Place as we work together to build a brighter future.”
This collaboration aligns closely with each organization’s mission—NBC’s call to “Go, Make, and Serve” and UPES’s commitment to “Growing Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.” As these missions intertwine, the partnership aims to create a culture of growth, connection, and lasting impact within the UPES community.
