Warrior Met Coal Forms New Adopt-A-School Partnerships with Berry Elementary and Berry High School
December 1, 2025
Warrior Met Coal has launched new Adopt-A-School partnerships with both Berry Elementary School and Berry High School, strengthening support for students, educators, and career readiness across the Berry community. The partnerships will provide academic incentives, volunteer support, teacher appreciation initiatives, and career-development opportunities designed to enhance school culture and student success.
“Warrior believes the strength of our future begins with the investments we make in our communities today,” said Wes Cox, communications manager for Warrior Met Coal. “Partnering with Berry Elementary and Berry High School is more than a commitment to education; it’s a commitment to the community’s long-term growth. When we support our schools, we’re helping build a stronger, more resilient foundation for families, opportunity, and the generations to come. We’re proud to stand alongside educators, students, and the families of Berry Elementary and Berry High School as we work together to help shape a brighter future.”
Through the joint partnerships, Warrior Met Coal will supply volunteers for school events, assist at the Santa Shop, support the Sunshine Cart program, and help with activities that promote engagement and skill-building for students. The Sunshine Cart initiative gives special education students hands-on opportunities to develop social and career-development skills while offering snacks and treats for teachers.
“Berry Elementary is proud to expand our involvement in the Adopt-A-School program by welcoming Warrior Met Coal as a partner,” said Darrell Thomas, Berry Elementary School principal. “As our community continues to grow, this collaboration allows us to strengthen support for our students and reinforce the connection between local industry and education. We are grateful for partners who invest in our schools, and we encourage others to join us in building strong foundations for every child.”
At the high school level, Warrior Met Coal’s involvement will expand career-readiness opportunities by helping students prepare for the workforce through mock interviews, career-development activities, and field trips that broaden learning experiences and build confidence.
“We are grateful for the partnership with Warrior Met and their interest in helping our students, staff, and the community as a whole,” said Kim Williams, Berry High School principal. “The job opportunities they are providing, along with their support of both BES and BHS, are a great benefit to our schools and community. We appreciate their generosity and look forward to this partnership and the positive results that will come from it.”
To demonstrate their commitment and launch the partnerships, Warrior Met Coal presented both Berry Elementary and Berry High School with generous donations to use at each school’s discretion.
