Cooper joined The Chamber's workforce development division, West Alabama Works, in May 2026 as a Lead Navigator and Project Manager. He works across the nine-county region and the State of Alabama helping job seekers sort out funding eligibility, get enrolled in training, and connect with employers who are hiring. Since joining the team, Cooper has also provided support in grant writing.

Before West Alabama Works, Cooper spent two years in Jackson, Mississippi as aide-de-camp to Governor Tate Reeves, staffing Governor Reeves at more than 300 public and private events. He later spent a summer with the Mississippi Development Authority working on business incentive programs used to recruit and retain industry. 

A native of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Cooper graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2022 with a degree in politics, and earned his MBA from The University of Alabama's Manderson Graduate School of Business in 2026.
