Donny has been a dedicated member of The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama since March 1998, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s operations and strategic direction as the Executive Vice President and Chief Workforce Officer. Donny also holds the title of Executive Director of the Chamber’s workforce division West AlabamaWorks, leading workforce development initiatives that are vital to the region’s economic growth. His work involves spearheading strategic partnerships, overseeing workforce solutions, and engaging with both state and local leadership to enhance workforce readiness in Alabama.
In addition to his roles at the Chamber, Donny serves on multiple boards, including the Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama, American Chamber of Commerce Executives Foundation, Tuscaloosa Education Foundation, Region 3 Workforce Board, and the Heritage Healthcare Board. He has been appointed by the Governor to serve on the K-12 CTE and ELA Course of Study Committee, the K-12 Textbook Committee, and the Alabama Committee on Credentialing and Career Pathways, where he also holds an officer position. Donny’s public service extends further as an appointee of the Lt. Governor to the Alabama Committee on Grade Level Reading and the Small Business Task Force. He is also an Education Attainment Fellow with the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
Before joining the Chamber, Donny was a regional manager at American Home Patient, where he gained valuable management experience. He is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber's Institute for Organization Management (IOM) and the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. Donny also holds the prestigious designation of Alabama Accredited Chamber Executive from the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama, a certification earned by only 5% of professionals in the field. He graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in Management Information Systems and Computer Science, and an Associate’s in Business Administration. Donny is also a 2001 graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa.
