Trinese McDowell, a native of Tuscaloosa, graduated summa cum laude with an associate of science degree with a major in computer networking from Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham.

She is a member of the First African Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, where she serves as the social media coordinator.

Trinese is active in the community, where she founded and serves on the executive committee for Outside the Walls, a ministry of 12 churches in downtown Tuscaloosa that partners with local and state resources for those reentering society from the criminal justice system. By sharing her personal life struggles, strengths, and successes, Trinese strives to be a beacon of light and hope for those reentering society.
