Overview:
We know all too well that conflict is inevitable. By understanding the triggers of conflict along with the basic responses to conflict, attendees will gain a foundational understanding of helpful approaches to managing conflict within the workplace. Attendees will participate in activities and group-based discussions that relate to various scenarios within the workplace and will enhance one’s personal confidence and motivation to manage conflict more efficiently.

What you will learn:

  • Participants of this interactive seminar will:
  • Identify various triggers of conflict within the workplace
  • Describe characteristics of the possible responses to conflict
  • Acknowledge one’s own perception and reaction to conflict
  • Practice proper communication skills to present, diffuse, and resolve conflict
  • Implement sequential steps to resolve conflict

Explore best practices of effective negotiation by learning to identify and apply optimal strategies that will build productive relationships in respective workplace environments. The process of effective negotiation will be introduced, including aspects of preparation, communication, meeting dynamics, bargaining, resolution, and relationship building. By applying a skillful approach through interest-based negotiation strategies, participants will create value in themselves and with others through intentional efforts to achieve personalized goals and enhance professional relationships.

  • Identify perceptions, emotions, and excellent communication skills of a successful negotiator.
  • Describe various strategies to prepare for a negotiation or mediation process.
  • Create a meeting space that ensures a safe environment that encourages discussion and collaboration.
