Join us for a morning session looking at key developments in employment law and significant changes in Employee Benefit plans.

What You Will Learn:
Bruce Henderson of Phelps, Jenkins, Gibson & Fowler, L.L.P. will provide updates on following:

  • Changes in employment and labor laws, including the expansion of "gender" in the workplace
  • The new EEOC posting requirement
  • Coping with remote work issues
  • FMLA leave
  • Medical marijuana
  • Independent contractor status
  • How to avoid retaliation claims
Russell DuBose of Phifer Incorporated will review the following:
  • The components of a high-performing employer sponsored healthcare plan and how to measure plan performance based on leading and lagging indicators.
  • Explore the employer ERISA obligations for self-funded plans and the new requirements and intent of the Consolidated Appropriation Act (CAA) to include mental health parity analysis and pharmacy benefit reporting.
  • Discuss alternative payment strategies, plan design, plan features and policies that improve costs and outcomes.
  • Discuss initiatives that local employer healthcare plan sponsors are pursuing in West Alabama to improve our regional healthcare ecosystem.

Keep this in mind, when you list your employer in your profile, if your employer has a company page on LinkedIn, you will be referenced there with a clickable link. You want to show your best through your profile.
